engines dont shear off. Airplanes are designed to discard their engines by flipping them over the wing during an emergency if really necessary which is practically never. This wasnt because the engine hit the ground. It might have been a maintenance mistake. Yaw and Roll are two different things by the way. yaw is wen the nose changes direction. roll is what it sounds like... a barroll roll

It didnt just fall of the Plane YAWed to the Left AKA rolled abit to the left as it was taking off. when it rolled the Left engine hit the ground causing it to sheer right off.

every once and awhile you hear of an engine falling off of an aircraft,makes ya wonder what the hell kind of maintanence schedule these planes are on.

well you got to understand the piolits paniced and you make huge mistakes when that happens. and plus if they lost control they couldnt have made an emergancy landing. also they could have hurt more people if they crashed landed on the runway because the explosion could go to other planes on parallel run ways

why the hell would they not drop the plane down at the end of the runway... as soon as that engine came off or blew up i would of tried to do a crash landing and hopefully save lives instead of taking it up higher.
