Does the turbo work better without the bov? I was told that the bov keeps the psi up so when you change gears power isn't lost.???

I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING

dual bov's is the dumbest thing ive ever heard. Ghost is right, if you put a bov on a stock turbo you will lose power.

allright about 90% of other car enthusiasts would disagree with you

that engine is dirty

i dont know about that last part but you are right TheGhost93, it is bad to put a bov on a stock turbo but people are ignorant and do it anyway because they think its cool..
khakimov (May 29, 2008 at 6:11 pm)
is that true?
kfcpork (May 10, 2008 at 10:45 pm)
no they have internal waste gate on a stock subaru turbo. the bov change on stock turbo is still useless cause the stock can handle 20 psi all tho if you replace your turbo and are running up to 1 bar in boost id swap out the stock

putting atmospheric BOVs on wrx's and sti's make them run rich in between shifts because the MAF has already metered the air coming into the engine and has a set amount of fuel it is going to use. an atmospheric BOV vents the air that has already been metered by the MAF and the fuel is then injected into the engine with not enough air thus making the car run rich. atmospheric BOVs arent very good for wrx's and sti's.
