Airfrance, you are most welcome. So far I have taken more than 50 Shinkansen train rides. Love the bullet train. 10 days with a lot of time on the train sounds wonderful. Enjoy!

Thanks! Yes, I have bought a JR railpass. I only have 10 days in Japan this time, so in one week I am thinking of heading up to Hokkaido and Kyushu...gonna spend lotta time on the train :) Thnks for the suggestion for hotel in Ginza, I will look it up!

Have a wonderful trip. I assume you'll be purchasing a JR rail pass? I saved a hugh amount of money using the pass. If you are going to Tokyo I found a great hotel in Ginza that is convenient and a good deal (Mercure Hotel Ginza Tokyo).

yes japan is so cool , not to mention something about shinkansen - the bullet train - which is the best the most confy and the fastest train - not like tgv where they run fast only in trials for developing and stuff , shinkansen runs every day as fast as 300 kg per hour !I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE JAPAN ..... :)
