They have made magnesium alloy engine blocks for years with an aluminum alloy cylinder insert if that answers you question.. But no magnesium aluminum mix alloy.. I'de have a hard time trusting an engine that's made of magnesium. I've seen magnesium parts get too hot, catch on fire and it's game over..

another reason why the engine is so special is because its made out of a secret alluminum alloy, which makes them lightweight and durable

they have to custom make a mold for any engine because each mold can obviously be used only once.
